Things I don’t like: the dog’s “thoughts” are included as conversation (ie dog is anthropomorphized). Like the narrator is saying what the dog would say. It’s not cute.

Set in the 90’s, and the author is trying to throw in so many 90’s pop culture references that it feels overdone.

There is zero chemistry between the main characters.
