Lena’s Reviews > The Emperor of Gladness > Status Update

i feel like all my agony towards this book just hits with delayed impact like i’m gathering little bits of sadness as i go and then it swells with water suddenly and then im ruined

i continue to be devastated over and over by the smallness of the world. sony has my entire heart bc he reminds me of my brother

i think it’s so silly that the scenes set in the past are present tense but the scenes set in the present are in past tense

grazina makes my heart ache 10,000 ways

we murder ourselves by remembering

kinda feeling like ocean vuong’s favorite verb in this book is “rinsed”

the contrast between ocean vuong’s writing style and sally rooney’s writing style is so funny
