Having a blast, want to jot down some notes because I loved the very secret society but I can’t remember much of the specifics

Okay I of course love the coziness and the warmth and the found family, but I do have some problems with the storytelling. Some of it feels a bit contrived and I don’t feel the true connection between Sera and Luke. I definitely think they love each other, but I don’t think we’ve had enough scenes showing the love build, making it feel real, and not just a product of them living and raising two kids together

it’s HAPPENING. I’m reading again 😭 at last. Such a cute and cozy story that makes me want to reread the very secret society of irregular witches. Also the MMC is the caretaker of his little sister who has autism, I’m very pleased about this rep

That should help jog my memory when I look back on this book in like 2 years
- Matilda: older Black lady, eccentric, likes gardening
- Nicholas: odd guy, works as a knight at a Medieval Fair, lowkey obsessed with chivalry
- Luke Larsen: Scottish magical historian working for Professor Verity Walter, love interest, guarded and protective of his little sister, staying at batty hole until he can find a larger apartment for him and Posy, since neither their parents nor the guild know what to do with Posy
- Posy: Luke’s 9yo sister, has autism, special interest is leaves
- Albert grey: egomaniacal witch pulling strings at the guild, most powerful and insecure witch in Britain, exiled Sera
- Professor Verity Walter: magical historian at the guild, fed up with Albert, lowkey trying to help Sera get her magic back (allowed Theo + Clemmie into the library, sent Luke to Batty Hole)
- Malik: produce supplier, married to Elliott, dad to baby Evie, has standing dinner date on Wednesdays with Sera
- Alex: Theo’s non-binary best friend, parents are dead
