So I was originally planning to jump straight to the next trilogy after disliking book one of Liveships but I’ve decided to give book two a go. So far so good! Liking it a lot.

From what I understand, not skipping this trilogy is very important for what emerges as the totality of the series. Of course, that is all hearsay to me. Two increasingly disappointing Pullman novels aside, I haven’t read any fantasy since 2024, I think—though I have arguably read some extremely weird literary sci-fi. Curious to see if you get on with this part of the series, since Hobb is one author I can imagine myself picking up at some point if I really need to take a breather.
