Should have read this when I bought it as a teenager… I do wonder if I’ll like it much now. To top it all off, this is the second volume of a trilogy and I didn’t know this back when I bought it, ahaha…

Makes sense though, this whole book culminates into the second half in which our protagonists “discover” Scarazand, the land of insects. Pretty entertaining even with the gaps in previous lore (haven’t read the first volume) that I have.
I don’t really like Pearl if I am honest. Her attitude towards Tom given how he’s doing her a favour is irritating at times.
