I really enjoyed this for Charlie!
Other than that I wasnt so interested, but their story was fine. I just didn’t care to really read it. I skipped some parts but I did enjoy some of the things I read.

"Love," Charlie muses into a sad smile, almost longing. Wishing. I wish I could help open that door for him one day.
So he can reach the love of his life sooner
rather than later.

„We‘ll always be friends“ I tell him.
A smile reaches his eyes.

"And I'm still your 24/7 bodyguard, Charlie.
That's not changing, okay?"
He frowns for a second. "Are you still my friend?"
We were never friends. Those words catch
in my throat.

"The only reason you're agreeing to continue filming is for me. This no longer feels like a partnership, Charlie. It feels like I'm exploiting you."
"I'm letting you.'

Charlie lets people beat the shit out of him. He'll surrender himself to pain because he doesn't care about his own life.

He rolls his eyes. "I took the risk."
Because he doesn't give a shit if he gets hurt. Pain, right? It's greater than the frustration he feels on a daily basis. I don't know how to help him other than making sure he keeps talking to his dad.

"Did you know?" I whisper to Oscar. "That that's the reason he lets people hurt him?"
Oscar nods. "If intelligence is a ladder," he tells me softly, "Charlie's trapped at the top. And it's a frustrating place to be."
A tortured genius.

He swipes tear tracks off his cheeks."I sometimes think that maybe it'll stop one day. This feeling inside me...frustration...all the fucking time."He blinks into more tears.
"But it never really goes away, and...it has to be drowned out by something stronger. Either..pain or love."
I frown."Is that why you let people hurt you?"
He blinks again, his tears welling and eyes growing bloodshot."I need to talk to my dad."

Tears brim. "Please." He chokes on a breath. "I can't be trapped here."

He gasps air. Silent tears slide down his cheek. His eyes flit from me to Oscar and back to me. "What does love feel like?"
