I sit outside in the sun—the first warm day in a long time. I don’t give much meaning to time anymore, but it’s here and it keeps passing. The leaves are golden and blood red now, and I’m falling, too, with the leaves from the trees. That feels lovely: to fall.

This book is a dance. Everything I’ve learned about composition—repetition, motif, flow, development—is apparent here. I’ve said before that Septology is a meditation or a prayer to time, watching and living a life at once. It’s cumulative.
