I don’t love the character names in this book. I’d love some authenticity in a clearly Asian inspired world. The author front loads a ton of information in the first four chapters and I still don’t understand why Blake arrested Rubi. Such a weak excuse IMO.

This plot is really lacking the tension and impending death and doom of similar books (Fourth Wing). I still don’t feel any connection to any of the characters nor do I understand any of their motivations. So flat and still half the book to go!
