thrasymachus ;"justice means what serves the ruling class. But that's infallible, we r capable of making mistakes, and so that's not the definition. Nd rules don't want to be rulers, unless they are paid; the leader must b good becuz the mass will hate him

Socrates: no profession or art or authority provides for its own benefit but as we said before provides and orders what benefits the subject of which it is in charge the studying the interest of the weaker party and not the stronger that was why i suggest now that no one really wants authority and with it the job of righting other people's wrongs unless he is paid for it because in the exercise of his professional skill if he does his job properly he never does or orders what is best for himself but only what is best for his subject that is why if a man is the consent to exercise authority you must pay him either in cash or honors or alternatively by punishing him if he refuses
