That epilogue was pointless

King was like "and also they fucked"

"She raised her hand and showed me a V. So, two canes." This is an example of how he writes clunkily for some reason that I can't figure out. "She raised two fingers." There, now I don't need Charlie to explain. This book is explaining EVERYTHING to me and I hate it.

I had to look up how many fantasy books King has written, since this reads like his first. TWENTY? HE'S WRITTEN TWENTY FANTASY NOVELS? Then how come he keeps pointing out obvious tropes to me and saying things like, "See? No one will believe my story." Yes sir it's a fantasy novel, we expect that. What was bro's editor THINKING.

I could do without the constant fucking reminders about things we already established. It's not hard to remember that they have universal translators or that he smeared shit in his teacher's car. (Frankly, I see the latter as poor storytelling, since King is relying on that to let us know he's truly not a good guy instead of showing that he's not a good guy.)
