It has been a while since I’ve read some weird sci-fi and by page 10, we’d already landed on a planet with mile-high trees and seemingly populated by sapient hobbyhorses. The crew is a grizzled pilot, a female big-game hunter, a blind guy who was telepathically guided to this planet, and Friar Tuck. Also, there’s a squid named Hoot.
