Getting more interesting. I AM enjoying reading. When it’s not traumatizing me. I just wish I could take every overly violent or sexual thing from this book and it would actually be much higher on my list. But alas.

Omg. I would’ve beat the ever loving crap out of Lavoy. He would’ve gotten his tail torn up. I would’ve thrown a brick after him into the water. 😂 Anyway. I hate Brashen and Althea. They are both two troublesome and cringe peas in a pod. And desperate, ew. Done with their alleyway escapades. But anyway. It’s still a bit boring but it randomly spikes my interest with a 180 plot twist. Sigh.

Started all over from where I was. I’m just resigned to a bit of slogging, but I can say I misjudged it. Only sort of. It’s a bit more engaging now. I just really need to read it through to the end. Ugh. Idk what’s wrong with me. I’m flip flopping back and forth with this book. I’m suddenly enjoying it again. I think the ending is very engaging and makes sense, and Robin Hobb ALWAYS pulls her strings together tightly and neatly and this time, I believe, satisfyingly. Still almost done. I’m all over the place with this book. But I MAY go back and read from where I left off, skipping as much as I can, because alot of it is triggering or downright boring, unfortunately. I’m just too nosy. I HAVE to chronologically see what happens, though I’ve got a nearly perfectly painted picture now. I just need the details. I also like Malta ALOT more than I thought I would. Unfortunately I will not be finishing this book. And I’m glad I’m not because it is just beyond disgusting, beyond disturbing and I’m really disappointed because I expected so much more from her. Tawny Man was flawless. This shit? Belongs in the fucking garbage. I will never read this boring and disgusting series again. Ugh. Wasted half a year with this.

into this book now. The only thing I absolutely despise is how coarse, savage, and thoroughly detailed in traumatic and overly violent instances Robin Hobb can be. I get it has to be realistic and the world is often that way, but God Damn. A little bit of a shield, please??? It’s so bleak and so triggering. She needs to tone it back ALOT. In my opinion. I hate when people write like that. Like you have to show every gritty detail or it’s not believable. I believe you my lord, but if you’ve ever been through something terrible you DON’T wanna read it again. Especially in so much unfeeling and gruesome detail. It’s just too much sometimes. (All the time). And it’s annoying and angering. And disgusting and off putting, actually. And I’m tired of the rape and near rape. So maybe after this I will never read these books again. I already know I won’t. I enjoy Fitzchivalry. Often the violence was insane in there too, but. These books are just different. And it makes me lose a bit of respect for her honestly. Anyways.
