"Haunted Lovecraft" feels like one interpretation of the infamous Disney Bette Davis/David McCallum vehicle "The Watcher in the Woods."
They debuted it in 1980...but the ending was deemed too dark and bleak, so they reshot the finale and released the final cut in 1981.
Ah! This is the Disney era of The Black Cauldron. I’m definitely going to watch The Watcher.
