i have been trying to hate read YESTERYEAR so, given the fact that after a month i am hold number #221, when i saw my local library had it on the lucky day shelf i thought i’d stop by when they opened.
i asked a librarian who it turns out had already scooped it for themselves. now i am the topic of library conversation for camping outside for tradwife bestsellers allegations.
i'm living an introvert nightmare.

It's like a bad reality tv show you can't look away from
The only worse outcome would be actually getting the book.
Same problem with Shampoo Effect audiobook. Libraries are exhausting sometimes...
Also, I saw the hold wait for the Whistler audiobook and didn't even bother...
My library ended up putting all the copies on a 7day express checkout plan so I was able to get my hands on it pretty quickly & I loved it 🫣
i wanted to bad to believe the hype. i hope your experience is what you want it to be! i was #482 in my library system's queue, so i figured i would go out to buy it, myself. honestly a bad use of funds lol
As a library worker, snatching up a lucky day book at the branch you work at is actually so evil. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a lucky day shelf if you're gonna take it before any of your patrons can even get their hands on it

Surprised you didn't get the ARC, emma. Maybe review something safe and uncontroversial like Pinocchio in the meantime?
