Dan Simmons creating a heartbreaking narrative for a mysterious set of remains that features a gay man dying with his late lovers journal in his pocket is beautiful but also so very inaccurate it’s hilarious. If the afterlife exists I’m sure Peglar is one of the most annoyed spirits of all time.
