I think I've given this a fair shot. its a dnf for now. This reads like a very young ya and given the characters that fits with a harry potter vibe. Sorry it had to be said. Given the number of people that rave about this book, I'm clearly in the minority.

I'm really struggling with the slumps, and i was hoping this book wouldn't be such a struggle but it is. Every word so far has been me, pushing on little by little. is it the funk I'm in or is this book trying so hard to be gothic and mysterious that it's overdone and the writing doesn't flow as really well written books do.
