Dang. This book could just give me a 2D horrific villain to hate- a bad guy to unquestionably despise for his actions. And it did at the start- but now, somehow, this book has managed to give me a complex character I feel pity and hate and sadness for. Applause for shen tao👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
