Oh Regina’s preparation for her death was regal. I shed a tear reading that chapter. And the lies the Germans told, presumably to keep their prisoners calm. It’s just gross.

I love how two of the stories cross over and we see two different viewpoints.There are times when I hate the doctor and feel sorry for her. Her story brings so many emotions out.Actually all of them do. Caroline’s story is the least relatable story, primarily because I’ve never traveled in those high society circles. Still I wonder if she will go over to France to find Paul and be transported to Ravensbrück too.

so far, three compelling stories, to fit my normal narrative for historical World War II fiction. The third story, the one of the German female Doctor Who is starting her.”practice” in Ravensbrueck, this is a story I never imagined. I’ve never heard of either. It’s frightening. The authors detail of her rape were horrifying, even though I’ve never experienced anything like that. It all feels so real.
