More about Obinze. Love that it alternates their stories and really cool to see a completely different immigrant experience with Obinze unable to immigrate to the US and going to London instead. This book is so easy to read!

Every time I pick up this book I read so much! It’s really enjoyable. I like how there are so many situations. It’s like a compilation of short stories but they’re all about these two characters.

I love the storytelling in this. It keeps jumping back and forth from the past to the present and it’s really cool. As someone who is not black at all (I’m Asian), it’s fascinating to learn about the perspective of African immigrants in the United States. I think the love story element between the main characters is engaging. It’s been a pleasure to read so far. Real page turner.
