The book itself… not brilliant, not terrible. But in 1966 it was apparently entirely appropriate for a girl of 'fifteen or sixteen' to suddenly start hanging out, without her parents knowledge, with a late-30s gentleman, who has started calling her 'love'. A product of its time, perhaps, but I don't recall other similarly-dated novels containing strangely-sinister borderline-age-of-consent bit-o’-skirt shenanigans.
