Okay… so initially this book really slapped… and then I got further in, and I’m beginning to see why folks didn’t rate this book as highly. While I appreciate the humanness of her writing (it’s accessible and relates to real, lived experiences), her turns of phrase are becoming redundant. Also, I keep hoping to find something deeper in her work beyond surface level descriptions and I’m not finding it
