Oh dear. This book is described as funny and moving, the funny bit, especially with a male author, being a bit of a red flag, because it normally translates to 'deeply unkind' which somehow other people find funny. I was hoping that I would be shown different, but so far I have read 1.5 pages, and it has been said that a woman is overweight about 5 times, in a way that I imagine I am supposed to find funny. Oh dear
