I will be very honest with you all, I am finding it rather difficult to finish this book, & I will explain. This storyline is basically a story within a story, namely 'The Midnight Estate', which is a rather egocentric marriage, if you could call it that. More like oppression. Having survived a 14-yr marriage to a passive aggressive narcissist, that inner story brings back some bad memories. He wasn't quite as bad.
