God this town doesn’t deserve Hester

I like the duality of how Hawthorne made Hester a good selfless person yet she endures this hatred from the puritans for being a sinner

I can not believe how different life was back then the way that the women of the town are wishing that she could be executed because she had a baby out of wedlock is a crazy concept to me imagine how they would feel with the world today they would probably have a heart attack
