however, i think it should be evident that on a social media platform about books, people will talk and thus, spoil books. i’m not the only one who has done this - and my spoiler was the obvious conclusion to a romantic relationship, nothing unique or plot-related. goodreads also has the feature of checking what book someone is writing a status update for and it’s not hard to just… not read the status update when you see it’s a book you’re planning to read.

either way, i will choose the kindness that i was said not to have in the status update and avoid posting stuff of this nature from now on. but, let me know if i spoil you guys and don’t post rude and immature shit! (and fyi, i’m not being hypocritical - i was blocked, when i wasn’t even this person’s friend, and am unable to reply to their update bashing on me as a consequence.)

me reading this when i don't consider anything before the 25% mark of any book a spoiler... the way your status is super basic and obvious, like, what do they think it's going to happen after 8 books and the vibes of the book and the genre, that they are both going to die???? not even to mention that you could be referencing some other couple, maybe. some people walk around wanting to pick up a fight over nothing srsly

oh man goodreads is kinda weird that it can show your posts to complete strangers (tho I admit I am just assuming it was a stranger here?) - friends of your friends who liked or commented on the post... if it was a random person you can try limiting your privacy settings but I know not everyone wants to do that! and if it was someone on your friend list then yikes

YEAH, it is a stranger. i've been their friend before but, removed them because of some of the books they were reading 😭😭😭 and ig we have a lot of friends in common. a stranger going to the effort of making a status updating bashing me and blocking me is crazy work.

people actually complain about that?? its goodreads, obviously theres gonna be spoilers, you can't censor stuff on the updates thing (unless I didn't see it) they're just being overdramatic
