Noni writes the characters in a way that the audience connects and feels empathy which is rare. I felt like a i was a part of the book, fearing for the characters lives and living Kiva/Jarens romance. Loved Caldon, Kiva, Jaren, Tipp, Cresta, Naari, Tor and Ashlyn despite their flaws.

Best characters no notes. Found family so good its comparable to SOC and Cruel Prince

One of the best found family books, kiva and jaren = legendary lovers

third book is perfect no notes perfect dialogue world building suspense.

Zuleeka goes to Zalindov. Jaren and Cresta got the kingdoms to sentence Warden Rooke to Zalindov and the Trials of Ordeal because of his abuse on the prisoners. Eidran becoming new warden for now to get rid of the dirty guards.

Oh also Mirryn goes to Mirraven with Sera and Cresta bc she got banished

Kiva is Caldons favourite person btw.

Zuleeka throws the eye of the gods at Jaren to take his powers away again but Kiva jumps and intercepts it. She gets stabbed with it, losing her powers but she slices Zulee with the blade too, also taking away her magic.

“Kiva Sweetheart look at me. He begged cupping her face his hands shaking. “Stay with me. Dont close your eyes.”

Jaren took a fire attack for Kiva burning his entire body so Kiva heals him attracting Zuleekas attention.

“Those are your rebels down there but theyre not fighting for you. Thats Tor leading them having earned right —having earned their respect.”

Jaren, Caldon, Tipp, Naari, Cresta, Tor, Ashlyn:
“They were her hope. They were her strength.”

Navok sneered at Jaren then finished. […] “you cant hope to defeat me.” […] “he cant but i can” “youre supposed to be dead.” […] “hello to you too brother.”

“I Crestoria Vossendi Kildarion, challenge you, Navok Arakkis Kildarion, to a blood duel.” […] if she triumphed over him she would become queen of Mirraven.”
