[f vasquez] Did you like them? My friend recommended them to me after I asked him for some book recs and he thinks i’ll enjoy them and thus far it feels like the matrix which i think is fun

Mereda Hart Farynyk My husband read them when he was a teenager and recommended them to me 🥰🙃

Hmmm... haha. So. Overall? I didn't love them🙈. The writing style bothered me, as did certain other aspects of the storytelling. And some of the theology I thought was a bit wonky/iffy... or just wrong, lol.

BUT there were certain key elements (also related to the theology) that I thought were SO cool and SO well done, and I think of them often (many, many years later). There was one thing in particular that I thought he illustrated in such a powerful way that it really stuck with me.

So, yeah. I don't quite know how to answer? I don't really think of them as books I especially *liked*, but I thought certain aspects of them were really cool/meaningful. And I certainly didn't *dislike* them either! I appreciated having read them👍

Mereda Hart Farynyk (lol, sorry, I have a way of making answers to questions way more complicated than the questioner probably wanted 😆)

[f vasquez] Haha no that’s understandable! I started another one of his books and the theology bothered me 😂 but my friend is solid in his book selections and he enjoyed them so I thought hey why not give em a go? thus far the writing feels kinda of first draft/chunky but the plot is rlly interesting.

Mereda Hart Farynyk Yeah! Very interesting/intriguing/creative! Ted Dekker has a way of doing some pretty mind-bendy stuff in his books, and when it works, it's really cool!
