First time ever having to read the introduction after the first few sentences of the story. It was basically giving “previously on..”
The last “tale” is a manuscript btw (I didn’t know). ‘Alice’s Adventures under Ground’ is the name of the original manuscript that Lewis Carroll wrote for Alice Liddell. It’s much shorter and more whimsical version of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’.

I liked the nonsensical poems, but I preferred the first tale. For now, I’ll put a pin in the book’s finale.

I’ve caught myself smiling a few times reading the story.

While I was reading the poem 'The Walrus and the Carpenter' I felt warmth settling in through my body. I genuinely fell in love with the language, again. I was smiling the entire time, until I wasn't. That's when I realised they were eating the oysters.
Well, that went south.

Oh my godd, the Jabberwocky poem!! I've read it six times already haha. It's seemingly a bunch of nonsensical words that somehow make sense. Way to describe a frabjous moment. 🩷

I adored the first story! Growing up, Alice in Wonderland was one of those films I watched over and over again, so reading the original tale felt like a trip down memory lane. Rediscovering Wonderland through Lewis Carrol's words brought back the same sense of wonder I remembered from childhood.

I’ve noticed that Alice often uses the phrase “it’s so queer.” Back then, I think it was commonly used to describe something strange or unusual? Nowadays, however, its more often associated with gender identity. Speaking of that, I might as well take this opportunity to say happy pride! 💜
