I read about how learning to have possession over nothing is needed to reach the state of Nirvana. Learning to detach from objects aswell as people in our lives in this way shows little foolishness and great maturity.

The scripture I read in this book today was about grief within Buddhism and used a story about agriculture. The name of this passage was "The parable of the mustard seed". I really appreciated how the story it used about a mother and her dying son while looking for mustard seeds so beautifully teaches that death comes to all living things and states: "This only is the law, that all things are impermanent."
