Had a scary experience about losing both my amazon and audible account. Tried to purchase several audiobooks on sale, unknowingly my VPN were active and that locked my accounts. Amazon asked for identity documentations, sent it and got rejected almost immediately (most likely AI). Spent the last week trying to get my accounts back via email but was stonewalled by auto-replies. cont.

Got hold of amazon support on X, then was told to make a phone call to their Account Specialist written on the website. Made the call, and my account was finally reinstated after doing verifications with them. To think that all of the books I purchased in the account would get poofed into the ether. This made me really wary that a multi-trillion dollar company would take away your purchases just like that. Geez.

It really does suck because I relied on kindle/audible immersive reading feature to properly read. I'd own physical books if I could, but having ADHD and dyslexia hinders my ability to read. So yeah some lesson learned there.
