Exceptionally well written in being compulsive and easy to read. I really appreciated Daiyu’s resilience and coping with disassociating; the right amount of emotional sharpness.
On the other hand, it’s a bit too historical tragedy porn for my taste—like it’s convincing me of how awful it is rather than letting the vileness speak for itself. Also slight “men bad” moments, but I can get over it.

Still pretty good. Still a little bit victim-complexy at times, but otherwise mostly a story about endurance.
And I do appreciate Daiyu’s strength and adaptability as well as her arc from trusting to suspicious to cautiously trusting again.
