This scene was so meta because I could not think of anything for Jav to say in the moment. The wordsmith and her wordsmith creature were both wordless. When Stef got inside him, Jav’s weird non-stop, never-shut-up mind was suddenly silenced and so was mine. Stef needed Jav to say he was OK but Jav couldn’t put two words together. I kept starting and stopping. I feel... I feel... I feel so... I feel so...here.

I LOVE this insight. I felt so strongly while reading this that Jav was, for once, not looking for a story or looking for context, he was just present, totally connected to Stef and to that moment of just existing together …and Stef could feel that from Jav too. Just stunning 😭❤️

THIS!!! All those years of escorting—the way Jav managed the expectations, did an excellent job and protected himself was finding a story in every situation. I will do this and you will give me that. After Jav breaks down and tells Stef just how haunted he was by Nesto’s loss, how bitter at his family’s betrayal, how broken and angry he felt after seeing his aunt again... And then Stef says it all happened so Jav could be with him and it’s Stef’s to protect.... Making love in that context, everything is just quiet and present and...here

You know the thing I REALLY loved about Jav and Stef was their desire AND their willingness to be honest with themselves and each other. They really strived to be what the other needed, because they wanted to be that for each other. That moment when Jav introduced Stef to his Tia was like an epic mic drop BOOM moment. The ownership. The belonging… the gelang one might say 🤭 And just everything afterwards… Ooooof 🥹 seriously no words
