… For instance, the Koran still keeps mostly to an eye for an eye. Speaking of doing good to those who have not wronged you, “Allah loves the equitable”. But still says that if someone has wronged you for your religion or driven you out of your land that it is bad to make friends with them, and implicitly(as said in other verses) to not engage in retributive combat…

So far the Koran, or Qu’ran ig, has been good. It certainly has parts which are violent and dominant, I would certainly not say more than the OT. And just like the OT the overarching themes do center around God loving justice and mercy and equity. I was kinda tired of being told what Muslims believed or how terrible it was. And decided to read it for myself. I’m hoping it’ll be insightful given the insane rise in Islamophobic rhetoric in popular media and verbal and physical violence against Muslims across the first world
