This is genuinely SO COOL. Mehrab is smart as a whip but also so human with her peevishness and jealousies.
The dark things that lurk in the forest are becoming more of a threat and I have no idea where this is going but I am EXCITED

I’ve been wanting to read Slatter for some time now; picked up her latest “a forest, darkly.” At first I was unsure bc of the pacing/style but as I’ve gotten into it, it’s a very hypnotic story. Witches, ancient magic, evil things lurking in the woods, growing older, secrets best left in the past, and summer husbands. Fantastic lore, excited to keep finding stuff out !
