I was glued to the first 1/2 of the book. It’s funny, and agreed with The Guardian that it’s “remarkably rarely annoying”. Catherine’s story and experience is very similar to mine and I’ve been clung to this book during my early sobriety. 3/4 in I’m starting to raise eyebrows. By page 208 there’s no signs of the “ugly truths” of sobriety, and I find myself questioning the hyper-positivity tone.
