All the snippets on the back describe this book as hilarious, and brilliantly funny and comedic. I am halfway through and have not thought it was funny once

I get that like the conferences aren't the point. They're just a catalyst for him to travel and reflect on himself and stuff. But it's so jarring that we never see any of the events.
