Really enjoyed that one

I've wanted to approach Hardy for years but find all is work too sad and depressing. Years ago I saw the film made of FFMC and thought, wow, a Hardy I could actually read! Finding his writing a bit flowery and dense so far (showing his poetic stripes) as I do have a bias for the more straight forward George Eliot, but am glad to be reading it at last.
