Midnight has grown so much, learned so much but he's still so young and quite ignorant. I had this thought so many times as I was reading both midnight 1 and now this one: midnight is an exceptionally well brought up black man, but how valuable is that in a man that trusts no one? He can spend all of the money, kill off all threats to his women, but he fails at every opportunity to learn about them as individuals.
