I can painfully relate to raising a child, and coming up for air just to feel left behind, forgotten… insignificant. Rachel nailed the empty, painful and almost hallow feeling that grows in your throat when you sit amongst a life that used to be yours. I could quite literally feel the angst that she wrote about and love the way she writes about the dark side of motherhood- the side no one likes to talk about.

I was totally ok with how this book began- but I’m having a hard time with this woman allowing her son to run around with a collar and a leash- eating raw meat. It just keeps getting weirder and weirder. I’m trying to make it through this read- it’s written so well a but it’s becoming slightly cringy for me.

Never before have I ever been more read by a book than this one. I’m only 17 pages in and I feel like Rachel has pinned exactly what motherhood feels like. I can totally relate to this feeling and can’t think of circumstances written better. She really pinned what I think every mother has experienced and I’m here for this entire ride. Can’t wait to see where this book takes me.
