Instead of having my concerns relieved, the further in I get, the more concerned I am. These allusions to a monumental biblical event are not lining up with biblical orthodoxy AT ALL, and I really don’t want to have to leave my first negative review for one of this author’s works, but I might have to if things don’t turn around by the end.😭

I am getting a little uncomfortable with one aspect of this story. It was a concern I had at the end of the last book that seems to be coming to fruition in this story. However, I am not giving up as I have never read anything concerning by this author in the past, so I have hope.

Wait what do u mean? If u don’t mind me asking. I haven’t read from this author before but I’m curious !
She’s incorporating aspects of the virgin birth (a God-like voice speaking to her from her womb, etc.) but this is not a Nativity retelling and definitely not a virgin birth.
Hopefully I am wrong, but I am so far in, it’s hard to redeem this now. This isn’t the last book, so I guess there’s hope.🤷♀️ (But I did just read an in-utero “John the Baptist meets in-utero Jesus moment” so I don’t have much.) I love this author’s other books, though, and highly recommend them!
