Our goal, according to Brother Lawrence is to be completely lost in the love of God. He also says he would “find himself again” in the Love of God, which reminds me of a CS Lewis quote from the Great Divorce “Overcome us, that, so overcome, we become ourselves.” Submission to God does mean losing ourselves, but ultimately it is finding ourselves in a superior way!
