Given that we are at the zenith of capitalism, with what seems like unlimited formation of business and corporations.
I had a cool thought about how there’s a chance as crazy as it might sound like corporations is like summoning demons/or beings from a different realm but I’m starting to realize I have no original thought after reading this lol as crazy as this sounded.
This idea is already explored lmao

Nicolás Herrera That sounds pretty eccentric, and yet interesting. I haven't read this book by Graeber, but I'm familiar with, and more or less supportive of, his line of thought. So I'd be very grateful if you could explain to me what this idea consists of and where I could read more about it. Thank you in advance.

Oluwaseun Adejimi Olaoya Yeah, you’re right, it is pretty eccentric haha. I’m still exploring the idea myself. Graeber only gives a short overview, but the closest thing I’ve found is this medieval idea of the corporation as a persona ficta, basically an immortal legal person made up of mortal people.

Graeber draws on Ernst Kantorowicz here, which is why I’m planning to read The King’s Two Bodies next. That idea of a mortal person versus an immortal political or institutional body feels very close to what I was trying to get at with the demon/ angelic being metaphor.
