additional optimism: israel is only cutting back their food supply to gaza (no genocide in this world!) and we elected a black woman as president in 2028. government did commit war crimes in 2034 though so ya win some ya lose some. anyway i hate all of these characters but i love this book soooooo much it makes me want to cry
