Mrs. Collarwaller, the bookseller, was a particular friend of Miss Petitfour, and the bookshop was one of Miss Petitfour’s favorite places. There were two sides to Mrs. Collarwaller’s shop, one side for adventure books and the other for books in which nothing ever happens. Personally, Mrs. Collarwaller preferred books where nothing ever happens, but even she understood that sometimes we feel the need to visit another
