Taking advantage of a sick day, and determined to finish this today.

I’m really trying to be mindful of Melinda’s trauma and anxiety surrounding her mothers mental health, but she’s kind of making me want to backhand her. Also, the mother/MIL, jail, immediately, so unlikeable and it’s so much so that it’s distracting me from the rest of the book which is stupid because - maybe I’m wrong - she’s not that important…she probably will be though.
