As they say, he threw a brick and didn’t even kiss it. 3.5 hours remaining till the end of the book and I’m depressed by it. And yet, nearly every line is so beautiful and can’t stop listening at 3 a.m.

“A field man is a personality of the field, a field woman is a part of the field.”
I like how he makes a point of how women were perceived and treated vs men.
The whole book is about how the woman is punished by the social order for what a man did.
And has this sentiment changed so much over the century? I think much less than it could have.
