This book feels very slow but it's still a little fascinating. I feel like I need to really think about the hidden themes to enjoy it more than the overall story. He self inserted in a way that is kind of intriguing - as a secondary person who helps the MMC remember things.
This story explores cultural expectations and the difficulty of doing the right thing versus what they want.
