The first chapters are magical but there are bits and pieces that just don't fit. 1950s America- no one was fussed about cigarette smoke, this is actually the day of doctors doing ads for cigarettes, not worried about what they do to lungs. Some phrases (I'm good) that came on the scene much later. Still a nice book but things like this knock it back to ordinary.
