Heavily emphasizes the struggles he had in getting Raging Bull, King of Comedy, and Last Temptation of the Christ actually produced.
Also emphasis on how they kind of shifted away from the traditional biblical films when crafting the story and dialogue for the film.

On his interview at the university. He talks a lot about the influences his mother and father played and how he actually knew Harvey Keitel and the struggles at first. Very nice change of pacing/story in the book.

I’m not the biggest fan of “The Age of Innocence” but Ebert’s explanation of it was really good and how all of scorseses’ themes are tied into it. It spent most of the time talking about “Casino”, I love that film its a true work of art and just hearing how it was filmed was fascinating. I am on part 4 of the book now.

Really got into goodfellas. The part that struck me the most was that unlike the godfather with Kay never approving or assimilating into the mafioso life, henry’s wife (lorraine bracco) really got into it. She was jewish and by the end you would think she was an italian frlm sicily. It became normal for her, all of her friends husbands were “made” into the family and she was a big reason for Henry’s success.
