The story follows Raul Endymion who is in a schrodingers box prison above Hyperion 274 years after the fall and now goes into his backstory as a hunting guide who got into a quarrel and killed a born again Christian - one who wears the cruciform - after the Christian killed his dog and attempted to kill him with the pax court taking the story in unquestioningly with the killed Christian testifying in his own murder
